Alex Cull is running for Mayor of Lake Worth Beach!

Executive Experience, a Commitment to Practical Solutions and Honest Governance, with a Heart Devoted to the Well-being of Our Diverse Community.

My journey into public service began with my mother and father, who raised my brother and I in a Scouting Family. Both of us eventually earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and the principles of the Scout Oath and Scout Law serve as daily mantras, reminding me of the person I strive to be: trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

My mother, an Argentinian immigrant, made significant sacrifices in her life to ensure her two boys could lead a normal one. Her influence taught me always to consider a world greater than myself. Simultaneously, my father instilled in me a sense of duty—to our country, community, and loved ones. For us, community service and looking out for our neighbors are not exceptions but a ceaseless expectation.

I arrived in Florida in February of 2013 as a young man, without a penny in my pocket, and a dream that I could again live up to the foundations and principles I was raised on. I was in debt, I had no car, and was living in shared communal housing. Mustering the funds to purchase a bicycle, I accepted a starting position at an insurance brokerage, where I biked 26.6 miles, five days a week, for nearly a year. Paycheck to paycheck, counting every dollar, I eventually assembled the assets necessary to get four wheels back on the road, and a small apartment to call my own. Over the following years, I rose through the ranks of that firm, working late daily, often working seven days a week, building a multimillion dollar book of business in a matter of years while receiving accolades from my employer as a top performer.

The day I visited Lake Worth Beach marked the end of my journey. As I parked on South J & Lake Avenue, I didn't see rows of concrete strip malls but a vibrant community—comic book stores, record shops, artist galleries, family-owned grocers, affordable restaurants, art studios, and thriving local venues. For the first time in a decade, I knew where home was. I vowed, "If I ever have the opportunity to buy a home, it will be here." Later, I closed on a small home in Eden Place, surrounded by kind neighbors who feel like grandparents, uncles, and siblings. For the first time in a decade, I was truly home.

The transition from communal housing to entrepreneurship was not immediate. Like many of our neighbors, who make tough choices daily to provide for their families, I spent years moving from apartment to apartment, city to city, always chasing a more affordable lease as rents rose. These experiences are not lost on me, and I pledge to fairly represent those within our city who are often unheard or unseen.

My unwavering dedication to public service is rooted in a simple principle: do what's right, what's effective, and what has the most significant impact. Even if it's hard—especially if it's difficult—because no big thing is ever easy. This belief guides my view that effective leadership is built on a genuine commitment to our neighbors' well-being, transparent communication, collaboration with business leaders, and sustainable stewardship of our shared ecosystems.

Representing our city as Mayor is no easy task, but I come equipped for the work at hand. Alongside my lifelong commitment to community service, my professional journey has provided valuable executive leadership experience, managing teams at one of the nation's largest insurance brokerages and serving as a Senior Strategist & Project Manager at a Fortune 5 company, building and managing projects and programs effecting millions of people, and hundreds of millions of dollars. I've honed the skills necessary for thorough and effective executive leadership, honest governance, and accountable action.

If elected I promise to govern fairly, and efficiently. I will dedicate myself to transparent and honest communication from our commission and city staff. I shall maintain a focus on solution-oriented decision-making that propels us forward, with an unending and steadfast commitment to solutions over ideology and bickering. I aim to cultivate an environment that cherishes open dialogue and collaboration, providing a foundation for navigating challenges with purpose and unity.

I advocate for maintaining a steadfast focus on practical solutions, steering clear of the divisive trappings of political discord. My vision for the commission is one of efficiency, ensuring that every moment dedicated to public service moves us forward collectively, and if tax dollars are to be spent, that expense yields the largest positive impact for our neighbors.

Lake Worth Beach is the first place I could call home after a decade without one. I am committed to doing right by our city, which has welcomed me with open arms. Our campaign is young, but already the support throughout the city has been overwhelming, from business owners, to parents struggling to pay the bills, from young artists, to the disenfranchised, and the chiseled professionals. To all those contemplating a vote for our endeavors, to all those who want a government that exists to better the lives of its citizens and to push our city into the next generation of success: I deeply care about our city, and I believe that if we think big, remember our values, and stay true to ourselves, we will succeed - and when we succeed, we are going to help a lot of people.
